We would like to announce that as of Friday August 12th, Michael Nitz, has stepped down from the position of President of SHIFT: Thunder Bay’s Young Professional Network, to effectively focus on his new role as the Chair of the Board for the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce. Although his time as President was shorter than expected, his Leadership while serving as VP since 2009, will have a lasting impression on our growing organization, and our community has a whole. We would like to wish Michael all of the best in his new position as the Chair of the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce. We offer a tremendous thank you to Michael for all of his hard work and dedication to SHIFT during his three years with the group. Michael will remain an active SHIFTer, and as the Past Chair will continue to serve the board as an Advisor.
Effective immediately, Nathan Lawrence, will assume the role of President of SHIFT: Thunder Bay’s Young Professional Network. Nathan has been an active SHIFT board member for the past two years, and is excited to be stepping into the President position.
“Over the coming year, we will continue to build on everything past presidents Chris DaSilva and Michael Nitz have helped us to achieve as we take SHIFT to newer heights. I am excited to be stepping in to this new role as President of SHIFT. SHIFT is Thunder Bay’s home for young-minded professionals who understand that moving their community forward means more than just doing business. It’s the big picture, from social and environmental concerns and personal professional development. Together, we can move forward.” Nathan Lawrence
Congratulations to Nathan, and we look forward to an exciting new year!
