I'm very excited about Movember!
I'm a little bit ashamed to admit that this is the first year that I have heard of Movember.....however; it is a great cause and is a great way to get people talking and interested in a very serious issue!
We have three members on our board of directors who are participating in Movember....Mike Nitz, Chris DaSilva, and Brent Hagberg.
Chis was recently featured in the Chronicle as a part of: "the Handsome Men's Club"...

It seems as though the city of Thunder Bay has increased buzz and knowledge about Movember and prostate cancer, and as a result of the number of mustaches increases.
On Friday November 26th at 8pm, there will be a Movember party to celebrate and raise money for Prostate Canada. It is being held at Shooters, and the cost is $5 to get in. There will be prizes for the best Mo'bro and the best Mo'sista. There is no dress code, but people are encouraged to dress in 70s flare.
Seen you there!

Wine Tasting Mixer Update!
On November 18th, the Young Professionals Network hosted a Wine Tasting Mixer at the Prince Arthur Waterfront Hotel and Suites. For $35, YPN members were able to taste a selection of appetizers and wines (one white, and two reds). The event drew out just under 100 people. Special thanks to wine presenter Doug Kyle, Helium Highs, and the Prince Arthur Hotel who assisted in making the night a success.
The Young Professionals Network of Thunder Bay provides an environment for young-minded people to cultivate social and professional networks and engage themselves in the community.
YPN endeavours to be the first thing on the minds of young professionals who are looking for social and business networking opportunities, professional development and strengthening the future of Thunder Bay.

Welcome!
As the new Intern Co-ordinator for YPN, I've decided to add a weekly blog!
I think this organization is great, and only wish I had heard about it sooner when I attended Confederation College. It is a perfect networking tool for any young professional, and the best part...it's free to join!
YPN is a great way for young professionals to gain business and social contacts, while engaging in community events hosted by YPN.
Last month we hosted the Mayoral Q&A at the DaVinci Center, and it was a great turn out!
For our November event, we will be hosting a wine tasting event and a re-launch/re-energize to increase public engagement and awareness! We had such a great response from the public, so we feel really energized and pumped to be moving forward!
I'm looking forward to future blogs and keeping members informed!
